Laser/Light therapy
Laser/light therapy is used for the treatment of leg and facial veins, with the use of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) or with a true laser (ie Nd-Yag). IPL works by being selectively absorbed by the intended target. A cooling gel is applied to the skin. The light causes thermal damage to veins, which are then absorbed over time by the body.
The IPL and laser feel much like the snap of a rubber band when fired.
As with Sclerotherapy, multiple treatment sessions are often necessary, usualy 2-6.
An estimate will be given at the time of consultation. Occasionally, more treatments are needed for desired results than originally estimated.
