Cara A. Bonawitz, M.D.

Medical Director- Total Vein Concepts

Dr. Bonawitz has been a member of the Interventional Radiology Division of Medical Center Radiologists and an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Eastern Virginia Medical School since 2000. She earned her medical degree from Pennsylvania State College of Medicine. She then completed a Diagnostic Radiology residency, followed by a fellowship in Interventional Radiology, at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

She is Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology. In addition to being an active member of the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) and the American College of Radiology (ACR), Dr. Bonawitz is a member of the American College of Phlebology and the American Venous forum, two societies dedicated to the advancement of treating venous disorders.

While her practice encompasses all aspects of Interventional Radiology, Dr. Bonawitz is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of all forms of venous disease, with a special interest in varicose vein treatment technologies and advancement. Her special interests also include treatment of uterine fibroids utilizing Uterine Artery Embolization.

 

Michael Ho. M.D.

Dr. Ho has been a member of the Interventional Radiology Division of MCR since 1996. He obtained his medical degree at Louisiana State University School of Medicine. After an internship at Charity Hospital of New Orleans, Dr. Ho did his diagnostic Radiology Residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He then pursued an Interventional Radiology fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital. He returned to Hampton Roads after fellowship to join the MCR physicians who had trained him.

Dr. Ho is Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology and an active member of the Society of Interventional Radiology and American College of Radiology. He is also an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Dr. Ho’s practice encompasses all aspects of Interventional Radiology, with special interest in varicose vein treatments, vertebroplasty and chemoembolization.

Gerald Dominick, P.A. – C

Gerald is the Chief Physician Assistant for the Interventional Radiology Division of Medical Center Radiologists.  He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Lowell Massachusetts.  He was in the inaugural class and was awarded his Master of Health Science Degree and Physician Assistant Certificate from Quinnipiac College in Hamden Connecticut in 1996.  Prior to joining Medical Center Radiologists in 2005, he worked in Cardiothoracic Surgery.

Gerald is Board Certified with special recognition in Primary Care and Surgery from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a Licensed Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  He has completed Medical Laser Safety for physicians and Endovascular Laser Ablation Treatment training, which enable him to be the Medical Laser Safety Officer for Total Vein Concepts.  Gerald holds current Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification and Drug Enforcement Administration registration.  He’s an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants, Society of Interventional Radiology as well as the American College of Phlebology.   In his spare time he enjoys being outdoors and spending quality time with his family.
